Warrior making a comeback??? Honestly, I just don’t know!?!

May 7, 2008

Apparently, Warrior called into some radio show stateside and challenged Vince McMahon to a match at WrestleMania XXV next year.

But before that, he’s scheduled to face Orlando Jordan in Barcelona for the NWE World Heavyweight Title this upcoming June.

Part of me wants to laugh, part of me wants to cry, part of me wants to completely mark out.

You be the judge:

WrestleMania XXIV — The Only Preview I need

March 27, 2008

This is a decent review for a mediocre card.

Wow, It’s Been a While, Eh?

February 28, 2008

Haven’t kept this updated because I’ve been inundated with MBA application essays, going off on MBA admissions interviews, and have always been busy at work.  I have, however, kept up with the Caps and (to a much lesser extent) wrestling. So, here we go…

  • On Frozen Blog and a few other bloggers are hosting a Fundraiser/Auction for Woodrow Wilson High School to keep its Ice Hockey Program — the only one in the the District of Columbia — alive after the tragic death of the team’s head coach a year ago.  If you’re in the DC area, please show your support by attending the event at Clyde’s of Gallery Place on Leap Night, Friday the 29th, at 7pm, where you’ll join Caps fans to watch the re-tooled Capitals take on the New Jersey Devils.  If you’re not in the DC area but are interested in helping out, consider making an online donation.
  • Speaking of the Caps, I think they made some prudent and much needed moves without having to give up much.  I still wish they could’ve gone after a defenseman; nevertheless, GMGM done good.
  • Switching topics, Floyd Mayweather is getting a $20 Million payday for his appearance at WrestleMania XXIV on March 31st from the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando.  First of all, I didn’t realize WWE would shell out that much for a work.  Makes one wonder how much Donald Trump got last year to shave Vince McMahon’s head and how much Mike Tyson got when he appeared at WrestleMania XIV.  Second, I have no idea what type of match he’ll have with the 7-ft. Big Show, but this is a turn-off for me that will not persuade me to shell out $50 to watching live on PPV (the Ric Flair/Shawn Michaels match may persuade me to get it on DVD, but the rest of the card doesn’t drive me wild).

I’ll post an entry soon on summer movies.  Now, if you don’t mind, I have essays to get done…

Dameon Nelson’s Take on Raw

Back and Forth (Part 2) - WWE Raw 15th Anniversary

December 11, 2007

I was back and forth between the Caps/Devils and this, which ran way into overtime.

All I can is this: decent show, though I get the sense that anyone who watched the whole show may have felt force-fed everything from the last 15 years.  The crowd went cold during the Battle Royal finish, with Ted DiBiase paying off I.R.S. to climb over the top rope and out of the ring after taking a bribe.  The only match of merit that helped build up anything for Armageddon was the Jeff Hardy/Carlito Ladder match for the IC Belt. It sounded like J.R. and King were setting up Jeff Hardy/Triple H as a show-stealer on Sunday night.

Otherwise, did you smell what The Rock was cooking?  Neither did I, and I was understanding but disappointed that Dwayne Johnson declined to appear.  He contributed greatly to Raw’s success, and watching him give Vince McMahon a Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow just one more time would’ve been a great way to allow fans to thank him for those contributions (and a great way for The Rock to reinforce his appreciation for the fans who enabled him to launch his Hollywood career).
